summer flowers

I was inspired by some flowers in my backyard. My friend Vicki sent me some seeds in the spring. I'm not much of a gardener, but I did plant them and am so happy I did. They bring a beautiful, bright spot to my backyard, which I am enjoying, even in all of this heat. Thanks Vicki!

So, Ms Green Thumb, what kind of flowers are they, hmmmm? I have noted in all my "brown thumb" years that in the absence of knowing the actual name of the flower, I can get by with, "It appears to be some kind of aster."
Very cheery. Thank you for brightening my day :) Bonnie M.

One of my facebook friends told me they look like Echinacea 'Ruby Star' - but who knows? And you know, of course, I used my artistic liscence when painting them... so, do they look like the real flowers? Probably not, but that's ok. : )

I'm doing another acrylic class at Michaels tonight, come over if you can! That class may be switched now and then to a Friday morning class. Hope to see you soon!

:-DDD and Echinacea belongs to the family Asteraceae..."Asters" and the like. Too funny!
Yes, they do look like real flowers and Echinacea at that. I like the way that they have a sunshiney 'ray' appearance. It would make a wonderful print for a greeting card too.
Sorry, can't make the class tonight. I have to run ...literally ;)
